I am not 100% loyal to any one cosmetic company as I am a freelance artist and not a sales rep.  My involvement as the Beauty Director for FACE Atelier at Kleinfeld Bridal Boutique has allowed me to carry the entire line of FACE Atelier products – which has ultimately given me an advantage for my bridal clientele as it photographs flawlessly, is long-wearing, sweat-/tear-/oil-resistant and is very versatile for use on women of all ages and complexions. My kit consists of my favourite products from various professional distributors including MAC, CoverFX, O.C.C., Dinair, Arbonne, Cargo, Make Up For Ever, Lise Watier, Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, Urban Decay, Smashbox, Chanel, NARS, Tom Ford, Revlon, Graftobian, L’Oreal, NYX, Elizabeth Arden, Lancome, Ben Nye and more…

Event makeup & hairstyling bookings require a window of 1.5-2.5 hours (includes set-up & pack-up time) and depends on the desired level of glamour as well as the length/thickness of your hair.
For wedding scheduling, makeup applications for bridal party members take approximately 35 minutes per face where hair styling can take between 25-60 minutes depending on the length of their hair and style desired.  Bridal makeup and hair styling sessions typically require 1.5 hours (when a bridal trial has been conducted in order to determine their bridal look in advance, but can take up to 2-2.5 hours if it is a very dramatic application or ethnic wedding involving additions such as advanced contouring techniques, hair fillers, accessorizing and traditional dressings).  Bride’s require the utmost attention and detail-oriented care and technique to ensure that their hair and makeup look will withstand 14-18 hour wear.

In both cases, items such as whether the client will be opting into having Airbrush Foundation and/or False Lashes (individual/demi/full) applied will influence this estimation +/- by 5-10 minutes. Beauty itineraries are very important for me to plan in advance of the event date so please provide as many timing details as possible so that we can ensure your day runs as smoothly as possible.

Trials are a test-run that take place in advance of your special event/wedding date.  Trials are not mandatory, however, I do strongly recommend booking them for my bride-to-be’s.  Meeting beforehand allows us to go over the details of your event in person and discuss all of your relevant bridal elements to then try a couple of makeup/hair look variations in order to determine exactly what you want and really nail your bridal “vision”. Pictures are taken throughout the process and when your final look is completed (for your reference and to revisit closer to your wedding date) so you can feel at ease that you will look picture-perfect on your big day!

Trials runs are a flat fee of $100/$175 (additional travel fee’s may apply) and require a time commitment of 2.5 (Makeup/Hair Only) to 4 hours (combined Makeup and Hair Trial)

*Additional participants may be included in conducting a makeup and/or hair trial only if it is arranged in advance and conducted on the same day as the bride’s trial.

Commercial bookings typically opt for full-/half-day rates as this secures on-site services for tv/film/print work. For weddings, day rates are offered when you would like to have an artist remain on-site for the entirety of the day and shadow you and your bridal party to ensure you remain picture perfection – or to return at a designated time (after the ceremony/prior to photography session/before the reception) for touch-ups or a full-out look change! All of my brushes are pre-sanitized and hygienic for use on sensitive/acne-prone skin and I can opt to use only my hypoallergenic products if you have any latex/fragrance sensitivities. If it is coverage or longevity that you are most concerned about I would suggest opting for Airbrush Foundation. I stock a number of brands (FACEatelier, O.C.C., Dinair & Graftobian airbrushable foundations) along with a mobile air compressor and airbrushing gun that gently applies a very fine, custom-colour matched mist of makeup on the surface of your skin, rather than brushing or sponging it into the pores like other traditional makeup application techniques. This alternative is very buildable – where needed – to suite your desired level of coverage, yet feels breathable and won’t clog your pores. It’s biggest draw is the fact that it is ultra long-wearing, water/sweat-resistant and photographs flawlessly!

Hiring a professional is not only an opportunity to be pampered but also to have a more detail-oriented set of eyes applying your makeup in a way that accentuates all of your most beautiful features. People often get stuck doing the same thing (makeup & hair-wise) because it is all they know HOW to do, or they think it looks the best on them because they have little to compare it to. In any case, I assure you that you will not be disappointed – I have beautified over 800+ faces and am accustomed to working with many different facial features and complexions so I want you to feel confident that you are in good hands. I always encourage providing me with pictures in advance (of yourself and makeup/hair looks you like) so that I can get a better idea of your preferences and use them as my inspiration!

Many people do not wear makeup on a day-to-day basis but this is only more reason to have your makeup professionally done for a special occasion! Most unenthusiastic feelings towards makeup have been created by negative past experiences. I will do my very best to ensure you achieve the look you desire and that you will be smiling for the rest of the day from your new-found confidence. Makeup (done right) should not completely transform your look but simply accentuate the natural beauty you already possess – by bringing attention to your best features with optical illusions – what we call “the magic of makeup”.
